So, just for fun, we thought we’d post the original comps that Joey sent us for our site. This was a loooong time ago, when Joe was still messing with geocities, making Chicago Bulls fansites and UFO conspiracy pages for his parents and dogs to look at. He also reaaaalllly loved Blues Traveler and Celine Dion’s “All Coming Back To Me Now”, so he posted MIDI-versions on EVERY site he made…and thats cool…probably.
So here is the original site design. Now, we don’t hate it, but we’ll definitely say that he has come a long way as a designer.
He also had pretty strong opinions on Bill Gates back then…and spinny .gifs of computers. Man, if there is one thing I remember about Joey in those days it was his love of spinny computer .gifs. Memories…
Alright, ALRIGHT you got us. These aren’t Joey’s designs at all, he’s better than that, (though the microchip background is truly revolutionary), these designs came from an amazing site called the geocities-izer that turns literally any URL ever into a MIDI blaring , gif-ed out geocities site from the early days of the internet. Its hours and hours (or minutes and minutes) of fun, posted here because we get bored during the day when there is nothing to lightpaint.
