Michelle + P.O.S. + Immaculate Infatuation

P.O.S. and Immaculate INfatuation shot by Michelle McSwain

If you didn’t know already, we basically do whatever Immaculate Infatuation tells us to do.  Immaculate Infatuation is a local NYC-based food blog run by two music-biz guys who take a pretty relaxed approach to the daunting NYC food scene.  They’re also our friends.  So when they were looking for a photographer to shoot one of their Food + Music webisodes with Minneapolis rapper P.O.S., Michelle jumped at the chance, and being a Minneapolis native and fan-boy for all things Minneapolis Hip-Hop, so did I.

The night was amazing.  We got to watch as they shot the piece, and even got to eat some of Pure Food and Wine’s miraculously great RAW food.  After dinner and drinks, the chefs showed P.O.S. how to make a raw dish, and He in turn showed the kitchen staff how to make the beat for his ridiculously great song “Optimist (We Are Not For Them)” on some plastic cups.

Here’s the rub though.  He needed an expert in the plastic cup game that the song is built on.  Luckily, Michelle happens to be a church-camp Cup Game Veteran.  So when it came time for the big show, it was all on Michelle to build the beat with P.O.S. a drummer chef, and the guys from Immaculate.  It was AMAZING (I even got to do the “yeah”s in the background).

All in all, it was a hell of a night.  We ate some awesome food, I got to meet one of my heroes, and not only did Michelle take amazing photos, she was part of the music as well. Check out Michelle’s Photos Here, check out the full webisode below, and if you live in New York, just start eating wherever Immaculate tells you to.
