Photo filters are fun.  Throw a cool filter on your photo and suddenly you’ve got new textures, amplified details, impossible colors.  Taking our lightbombs and running them through all the amazing photo filter apps out there has been a lot of fun.  However, for every one that makes your shots look like they came fresh from the lomography store, there are very few that make it look like the visual equivalent of a dial-up modem in a blender…in hell.  Enter the almighty DECIM8.

Decim8′s motto is “Film is Dead”.  No “aged film” looks, no fake scratches, just utter digital chaos.  Think of it as the anti-hipstamatic.  Take a photo, run it through Decim8 and it gets DESTROYED.  Digitally.  You can take a light painting, process it, and in no time it will look like it is displaying on a smashed TV flickering away in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.  This vibe fits perfectly with lightpainting, the vibrant colors of a light painting always give Decim8 some great material to chew up, with beautifully damaged results.  Plus, the whole app is littered with references to Flying Lotus, Autechre, Minority Report…and more.  The nerd centers of the MRI brain flare up spectacularly every time we use it.

So we’re partnering with the awesome cyborg fellow who made Decim8 for a quick project we’re calling DECIBOMBER.   Starting today, we want to see what happens when you run your LightBombs through Decim8.  Post them on Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag#DECIBOMBER.  Check out our examples below (we took some of our favorite lightbombs and ran them through Decim8), and follow @LightBomberApp on twitter and instagram as we’ll be posting examples and tips allll week, starting now.
